Amid growing tensions between India and Pakistan, influencer and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, better known by his stage name BeerBiceps, has come under fire for a now-deleted Instagram post that addressed “Pakistani brothers and sisters.” Ranveer criticised Pakistan’s military and ISI for sustaining terrorism and damaging bilateral relations, but he reiterated his desire for peace and said he has no hatred for regular Pakistanis.
Even though his comments were meant to set civilians apart from the government, they were met with harsh internet criticism, with many people calling him gullible or controversial at a delicate moment. In response to remarks on the internet such as “yeh nahi sudhrega” (he won’t change), he removed the post.
