The Night Manager gets nominated for Best Drama Series at International Emmy Awards 2024

Mumbai, September 20, 2024: The gripping series The Night Manager, directed by Sandeep Modi, has received a nomination for Best Drama Series at the 2024 International Emmy Awards. This Hindi-language adaptation of John le Carré’s novel tells the story of an intense showdown between Shelly Rungta and Shaan Sengupta, all set against a backdrop of lavish drama and stunning visuals.

Produced by The Ink Factory and Banijay Asia, the series features an impressive cast, including Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sobhita Dhulipala, Tillotama Shome, Saswata Chatterjee, and Ravi Behl.

Sumanta Bose, the Business Head for Hindi content, expressed excitement over the nomination, calling it a testament to the show’s global appeal. He praised the talent and dedication of the entire team involved.

Simon Cornwell, CEO of The Ink Factory, emphasized the thrill of adapting le Carré’s work for Indian audiences, celebrating the series’ resonance on a global scale and the versatility of its actors.

Deepak Dhar, Founder and CEO of Banijay Asia, acknowledged the challenge of adapting such a well-known story and highlighted the stellar cast’s contribution to the narrative’s intensity. He remarked that the nomination validates the quality of Indian content on the international stage.

Director Sandeep Modi reflected on the challenge of reinterpreting the story to connect with local audiences, expressing pride in being the sole Indian nomination at the Emmys. He credited the collaboration with Banijay Asia and The Ink Factory for making the project a success.

Anil Kapoor, portraying Shailendra Rungta, shared his feelings about the nomination, calling it surreal and a culmination of hard work from the entire cast and crew. He emphasized that passion and dedication drive success, encouraging further celebration of Indian talent.

Aditya Roy Kapur, who plays Shaan Sengupta, expressed his excitement for the recognition, acknowledging the collective effort that went into the series.

Sobhita Dhulipala, in her role as Kaveri, celebrated the nomination as motivating and praised the directors and technical team for their exceptional work.
